The state minister in charge of tourism, Bello Bouba Maigari says for the purpose of peace and security to be maintained throughout the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations come November 2016, security measures has to be strengthened in hotels in the country.
According to the minister, a memorandum on security actions for hotels has been developed and adopted with the support of the ministry in charge of security in the country. The president of the National Tourism Council also recommends that this memorandum be instantly put into use and obligatory.
The competition which Cameroonian will host this November 2016 will take place in the cities of Limbe and Yaoundé, with two towns removed from the Extreme-North region where the terrorist group Boko Haram is focused. The Minister also emphasized that the terrorists threat is not new to Cameroonians, thus Cameroon has to be prepared to create an enabling environment for the upcoming competition.
