Cameroon emerged first out of 17 member states in the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa that was competed in the World Investment Forum held last July 25th 2016 in Nairobi Kenya.
The award came as recognition of Cameroon’s effort in making business registration by entrepreneurs and investors easier through mybusiness.cm, a platform that enables entrepreneurs to comply with laws and regulations and successfully register their businesses online within 72hours.
According to Global Entrepreneurship Research Network created to ease administrative procedures in business registration and the US Department of State, who jointly initiated the award says Cameroon has successfully break the barrier for investment into the country. Cameroon scored 7/10 since this platform is successfully linked just to Douala, Yaoundé and Garoua, but could have scored 10/10 if mybusiness.cm already linked all 10 regions of the country.
In this view, Cameroon stands among the few 29 countries out of 130 that have successfully put their business process online. Other countries have just information portals and are therefore encouraged to put their business process online by 2019.
